Jubo League leader arrested in Mirzaganj

A Jubo League leader has been arrested in Mirzaganj, Patuakhali on Wednesday night (May 7) at around 8:30 pm.
Police from Mirzaganj Police Station arrested the leader from Khalishakhali Bazaar in Majidbaria Union of Mirzaganj Upazila.
The arrested leader, Debashish Kumar Mithun, is the Organizing Secretary of the Jubo League’s Majidbaria Union unit. He is the son of Bimal Chandra Howlader of Tarabunia village in the same union.
On March 29, 2025, Abdus Salam Noyon, a resident of Tarabunia village, filed a case at Mirzaganj Police Station, referencing an incident that occurred on November 27, 2018. The case involved allegations of vandalism at the Jubo Dal office in Khalishakhali Bazaar and a subsequent altercation.
Debashish Kumar Mithun is named as an accused in that case.
Mirzaganj Police Station OC Shamim Ahmed confirmed that the accused has been sent to court.
