Mongla Upazila BNP : Mannan President, Poni Secretary

After 17 years, the biennial conference of Mongla Upazila BNP has been held. Abdul Mannan Hawlader has been elected as president and Abu Hossain Hawlader (Poni) as general secretary through voting.
On Tuesday (May 7), the day-long conference took place at the Tatibunia School ground in Mithakhali Union of Mongla Upazila, Bagerhat. From the morning, the presence of leaders and activists turned the conference venue into a festive ground.
The first session of the conference was presided over by former convener S.M. Farid Uddin Ahmed. Chief guest was Anindya Islam Amit, Acting Organizing Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee for Khulna Division.
In the second session, direct voting was held from 1 PM to 4 PM. Out of 426 voters, 423 cast their votes. Results were announced in the evening.
Members of the joint forces were deployed to ensure security during the election.
Party leaders and workers joined the rally wearing party flags, placards, and colorful T-shirts. Supporters welcomed the winners with flowers.
In his speech, chief guest Anindya Islam Amit said, “After 17 long years, this conference has given party members the opportunity to unite. Electing leadership through a democratic process sets a positive example for our party.
Other attendees at the conference included BNP’s Central Research Affairs Secretary Agriculturist Shamimur Rahman Shamim, Assistant Organizing Secretary Jayanta Kumar Kundu, District BNP Joint Convener Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam, along with top leaders from the central, divisional, and district levels.
