Main accused in Montu Molla murder case arrested by RAB in Muksudpur

RAB-10 arrested Tapon Kumar Bairagi (27), the prime accused in the sensational Montu Molla murder case, from the Faridpur district town at 9 pm on Saturday. According to the case details, there had been a long-standing dispute over house boundaries between the victim Montu Molla and his neighbors, the Bairagi family, in Khandarpur village under Khandarpur Union of Muksudpur upazila. On April 14, Sudhir Kumar Bairagi and his associates allegedly lured Montu Molla into his own house and brutally assaulted him with the intent to kill.Hearing his screams, relatives rescued him and initially took him to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, and later to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. After five days of treatment, Montu Molla succumbed to his injuries on April 18 at 6:51 PM.Following the incident, Montu’s younger brother, Milon Molla, filed a murder case with Muksudpur Police Station, naming 11 individuals, including Tapon Kumar Bairagi as the main accused. Since then, the accused had been in hiding.Acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-10 conducted a special operation and arrested Tapon Kumar Bairagi from Faridpur district town. He has since been handed over to Muksudpur Police.Tapon Kumar Bairagi is the son of Sudhir Kumar Bairagi of Khandarpur village and was serving as an assistant teacher at Gopalganj District Administration School.
