An extended meeting was held on Friday at 4 PM at the Muksudpur Press Club office located in the Farid Mia Complex, organized by the Muksudpur Press Club, on the occasion of inclusion of new members and formation of a committee.
The chief guest at the extended meeting was Farid Ahmed Mia, founding convener and former president of Muksudpur Thana BNP, and advisor to Muksudpur Press Club. The meeting was presided over by Md. Siru Mia, president of Muksudpur Press Club, and conducted by Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, general secretary of Muksudpur Press Club.
Speakers at the meeting included Hafizur Rahman, organizational secretary of Muksudpur Press Club; Kabir Hossain, upazila correspondent of Daily Sorejomin; Md. Kaiyum Sharif, upazila correspondent of Dainik Kaler Samaj; Delwar Hossain, office secretary of Muksudpur Press Club; Hossain Ahmed Kabir, publicity secretary; Shamchul Arefin, information and technology secretary; members Abu Bakkar Siddiq, Paresh Biswas, and Mehebuba Hossain Ontu, among others.
In his speech as the chief guest, Farid Ahmed Mia, founding convener of Muksudpur Thana BNP and advisor to Muksudpur Press Club, said, “Muksudpur Press Club is not just a journalist organization; it will become a symbol of democracy, human rights, and truth in the area. All journalists will play a positive role in society while maintaining unity, professionalism, and responsibility.” He further said, “Journalists are the conscience of the nation. Their duty is to protest injustice and speak for the truth. Muksudpur Press Club will play a significant role in building an active and positive journalism community in this area.”
He expressed hope that the new generation of journalists will not only develop professional skills but also be taught ethics and accountability.
