Scholars and religious leaders have played significant roles in various historical movements. Even now, they must work for the people of the country, said Adv Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Special Assistant to the BNP Chairperson and Chief Coordinator of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal.
He made these remarks as the chief guest during an exchange of views with leaders and activists of the Pabna District Branch of Jatiyatabadi Olama Dal on Saturday (June 28) afternoon. During the meeting, he interacted with the Olama Dal leaders and activists, inquiring about their activities and well-being.
Addressing the leaders and activists, he provided directional guidance, emphasizing that Olama Dal must play a significant role in making the party organized and strong. He stressed the need for scholars and religious leaders to work unitedly to build a just society and nation. Additionally, he urged them to reach out to the public to ensure the victory of the "Sheaf of Paddy" (BNP’s election symbol) in the upcoming elections.
The meeting was chaired by Alhaj Maulana Abu Saleh Mohammad Ali, former president of the District Olama Dal, and moderated by Maulana Mohammad Rezaul Kabir, former general secretary. Guests were Khan Mohammad Golam Mostafa Chand, former vice-president of the District Krishak Dal, Abul Kalam Azad, former organizational secretary of the District Olama Dal, and Abul Kahar Sheikh Johnny. Leaders and activists from BNP and its affiliate organizations were also present.
