
Mobile court drive in Boalkhali : Bond taken from rural doctor, two shop owners fined

The upazila administration has conducted a drive in the Kanungopara area of Boalkhali.
During this time, a fine of Tk 10,000 has been imposed on two shops through a mobile court on various charges including selling expired medicines. Rural doctor Swapan Chowdhury was warned about the bond for providing medical services without registration.
UNO Mohammad Rahmat Ullah conducted the drive on Tuesday afternoon.
He told the media that Rajib Chowdhury, the owner of GS Store, who sold expired medicines and did not display the price list, was fined 5,000 taka under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009, while Royal Chowdhury, the owner of Master Medico, was fined 5,000 taka. He was also warned by taking a bond from rural doctor Swapan Chowdhury to refrain from providing medical services in the future for providing medical services without registration. Boalkhali Police Station and Upazila Administration staff assisted in conducting the operation.
