National Fisheries Week begins in Rupsha

Keeping in mind the slogan "Building a safe haven, filling the country with local fish", the Rupsha Upazila Administration and Fisheries Department organized the inaugural ceremony of the National Fisheries Week, a forest procession, fish fry release and discussion meeting on Monday.
The procession started from the Upazila Parishad premises and ended at the Officers' Club. Later, fish fry were released in the government pond inside the upazila. After releasing the fish fry and discussing at the Upazila Officers' Club, 5 best fish farmers of the upazila were presented with crests.
U.N.O Sanjida Rikata spoke as the chief guest at the discussion meeting.
Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Jyoti Kona Das presided over the welcome speech and Marine Officer Md. Russell Sheikh of the Fisheries Department delivered the welcome speech.
Upazila Education Officer Aminul Islam led the speech, while Upazila Family Planning Officer Saidur Rahman, Upazila Agriculture Officer Tarun Kumar Bala, Animal Resources Officer Dr. Ahsan Habib Pramanik, Rupsha Police Station O.C (Investigation) A.S.
