Ovet 50 students fall ill with unknown disease  during school hours in Kalapara

At least 50 students have fallen ill with an unknown disease during school hours in Kalapara, Patuakhali. The incident took place at MU Secondary School in Champapur Union of the upazila around 1 pm on Wednesday. 
 
Around 3:30 pm, 20 of these students, who were seriously injured, were admitted to Kalapara Hospital. In addition, Nanny Morsheda (40) Begum also fell ill while providing first aid at the school.
 
The injured teachers and students said that during the class, a student named Sanjida first developed tingling in her hands and feet, stomach pain, and difficulty breathing. Later, at least 50 students fell ill one after another. Most of the injured were female students.
 
MU Secondary School principal Irfan Mia said, "One by one, at least 50 students fell ill and we brought them to Kalapara Hospital. Many students have been sent to Amtali Hospital."
 
Faruk Mia, medical officer of Kalapapra Hospital, said, "Initially, it seems that they are all suffering from Max Psychogenic Hyperventilation Disease. However, everyone is out of danger."
