State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmed Sohel Manjur has stated that the nation will never forget the supreme sacrifices of the July revolution, hailing Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as its master architect and primary inspiration.

Speaking on Wednesday afternoon as the chief guest at a reception and discussion meeting for July martyrs' families and injured fighters at the Bhandaria Pourashava Auditorium, the State Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to rehabilitating victim families. He announced that 15 modern buildings are currently under construction in Dhaka's Mirpur area by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works to provide free flats to families of those martyred and severely injured in the uprising.

Addressing the electricity crisis and corruption, the State Minister assured that the country's power situation will see noticeable improvement within the next 6 to 7 months, blaming the previous regime for failing to undertake sustainable work. He also emphasized the government's zero-tolerance policy against corruption, pointing out that the past administration pushed Pirojpur to the peak of nationwide corruption.

Furthermore, he promised swift repair of all damaged local roads and urged public cooperation to rid the region of drugs and terrorism.

Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mosiul Hasan and conducted by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Uzzal Haldar, the event was addressed by local administrative and political leaders, including Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Monir Hossain Akon and central Chhatra Dal leader Md. Zoyel Mridha.

The program concluded with the distribution of honorary government cheques to martyr and injured families, following the State Minister's visit to pay floral tributes and offer prayers at the grave of July martyrs.
