A campaign rally to motivate students to prevent plastic polythene pollution was held in Bamna, Barguna at 5 pm on Wednesday.
The pollution prevention campaign rally organized by NGO Rupantor and Sundarbans Protection Project at Holta Dowatala Multipurpose Secondary School in Bamna was held under the chairmanship of school president Farzana Yasmin. Speakers included Bamna Press Club President Abu Naser Siddique Golam Kibria, Bamna Teachers Association General Secretary Hafizur Rahman, District Coordinator of Rupantor Astha Project Md. Khalilur Rahman, District Coordinator of Eco Rupantor Sundarbans Project Anup Roy, among others.
Students, teachers, parents and local dignitaries of the school were present in this campaign rally. In addition, in this awareness campaign rally, quiz competitions, singing, and various events related to plastic polythene waste were held. Later, prizes were distributed among the winners among these students.
