In an extraordinary atmosphere with the participation of students from 120 countries of the world, the Summer Quarter Orientation 2025 of Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST) was held. 

The day-long orientation program started at 10 AM on 9 July. Hundreds of students from various countries including Nepal, India, Pakistan, China took part in this gathering.

The program was inaugurated by the university’s President Hasan Kara Bark. Assuring continuous support to the students in their new journey, he said, you dream, we will move forward holding your hands to make those dreams come true. 

In the speech of the chief guest, the university’s Chancellor Abu Bakar Hanif said—

"For building a successful life of a student, not only academics but also proper coordination of other essential aspects of life is needed. We are committed to providing such guidelines that will help a student from dreaming to successfully reaching the professional world. This university will be by your side in every step of life building, beyond just the academic path."

CFO Farhana Hanip said, standing by the students, giving love and taking care of them—this human connection is the most valuable to me. As a part of this family, I am by the side of every student. 

After this, representatives and faculty members of various departments spoke one by one. A separate session was held for F1 status international students where their visa regulations, university rules and academic procedures were explained in detail.

After that, students were divided into groups and took part in a campus tour. Under the supervision of the authorities, they were shown around the academic buildings, library, laboratory, student center, and the entire university campus.

At the end of the tour, everyone participated in lunch at the university canteen—where the sweetness of the food blended with the warmth of new friendships and introductions.

In the afternoon, department-based orientation sessions began. Each department welcomed their new students in their respective classrooms and discussed the teaching methods, research opportunities, and future career paths.

This day-long event was not just a formality—but rather a guideline for the full life of a student. Participating students said this orientation filled them with confidence and prepared them for the future.

The Summer Orientation 2025 of WUST ended with new dreams, new friendships and a new sense of responsibility—where a new chapter of life begins.
