Three arrested with shot gun, local weapons in Kalia

In a pre-dawn raid on Monday, members of a temporary army camp in Kalia conducted a joint operation in the Char Kandipara area of Kolabaria Union under Narail's Kalia Upazila, arresting three individuals and recovering a cache of homemade weapons, including a one-shot gun.
The detainees are Zahid Sheikh (50), son of Jalil Sheikh; Julfikar Sheikh (45), son of Habibur Rahman; and Shahabuddin Sheikh, son of Mokbel Sheikh.
During the operation, the army personnel recovered the following weapons: 1 one-shot gun, 17 locally made machetes (ramdas), 3 Chinese axes, 4 cleavers, 1 spear, 4 harpoons.The arrested individuals were handed over to Naragati Police Station. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shariful Islam stated that preparations are underway to file a case under the Arms Act, and the detainees will be produced before the court.Locals said, a criminal group had been operating in the area for a long time, and this operation marks a significant blow to their activities.
