
Trader fined for storing fertilizer in Adamdighi

A mobile court has fined Haji Ashraf Ali Mridha, the owner of the company, Tk 30,000 for illegally storing 1,070 bags of fertilizer at M/s Rafi Traders on Raikali Road, Muril Bazar, Nasrat Pur Union, Adamdighi, Bogura.
On Tuesday afternoon, a mobile court operation was conducted at M/s Rafi Traders in Muril Bazar area led by UNO Nishat Anjum Ananya. During this, the owner of the establishment, Haji Ashraf Ali Mridha, was fined Tk 30,000 for illegally stockpiling 1,070 sacks of fertilizer.
According to the mobile court sources, Haji Ashraf Ali has been doing business in pesticides and chemical fertilizers for a long time at M/s Rafi Traders on Raikali Road, Muril Bazar, Nashrat Pur Union, Mridha Upazila. He has been hoarding chemical fertilizers for a long time under the guise of business and selling them at high profits. After receiving information through secret information, the mobile court led by Upazila Executive Officer Nishat Anjum Ananya conducted a raid on the shop on Tuesday afternoon. At that time, 800 bags of MOP, 170 DAP and 100 bags of TSP fertilizers were found illegally stored in the shop's warehouse. When he was asked about the fertilizer storage, he failed to give a proper answer and the businessman was immediately fined Tk 30,000.
Out of the fertilizer seized at Muril Bazar on Tuesday evening, 245 items of MOP fertilizer were auctioned to the public for Tk 325, said Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mahmuda Sultana.
