Tree felling, house construction in defiance of court order in Koyra alleged

Allegations have been raised against Shawkat Gazi and his sons, Saifullah Gazi and Salahuddin Gazi residents of Gilabari village for defying a court order and causing various forms of harm to widow Rozina Sardar and her associates in the Christian Para of Gilabari village under Maheshwaripur Union, Koyra Police Station, Khulna . These actions reportedly include the felling of trees, construction of structures on the land, and the issuance of threats.
According to the lawsuit petition and the plaintiff, the plaintiff holds title to and possession of 39 decimals of land (recorded under various SA and BRS Khatiyans and Dag numbers, and registered via deed no. 1194, 12182). Following August 5, 2024, the defendants Shawkat Gazi, Saif Gazi, and Salah Gazi forcibly attempted to dispossess the plaintiff. Consequently, a suit seeking a permanent injunction was filed (Civil Suit No. 257/2026). Despite the court issuing a notice/show-cause order to the defendants, they allegedly defied the order by cutting down trees and constructing houses on the land.
Even after the court order, Shawkat Gazi, Saif Gazi, and Salah Gazi forcibly constructed a tin-roofed structure. When the plaintiff verbally objected and tried to stop them, the defendants ignored the plaintiff's protests; left with no other option, the plaintiff called the national emergency service (999) to seek police assistance. The police arrived following the call, and work was temporarily halted.
Salahuddin Gazi , one of the accused, stated that they stopped work when the police arrived after the 999 call. The police advised settling the land measurement issue within five days. Regarding the felling of trees, he claimed, "They are our trees; we are entitled to them."
SI Khairul Islam of the Mathbari Police Outpost said, he received a call via the 999 emergency service and immediately proceeded to the scene with his team to investigate the complaint. He further mentioned that he inspected the situation and advised both parties to respect law.
