Typhoid vaccination will be given to 8.5 lakh children in 8 upazilas in Rangpur from next Sunday to November 15 in a month.

 Of these, 2 lakh 10 thousand 619 children are in the city corporation area and 6 lakh 48 thousand 854 children and adolescents are in the 8 upazilas of the district. 

The Civil Surgeon  said that 1 lakh 76 thousand 756 people in the district and 36 thousand 86 people in the city corporation have come under the registration till yesterday, Wednesday. However, all registered and unregistered children and adolescents will be brought under the scope of this vaccination at the scheduled time.

On this occasion, on Wednesday, October 8, the District Information Office Rangpur and the Department of Mass Communication and the Ministry of Broadcasting organized a consultation workshop at the office of the Rangpur Deputy Commissioner.

Under the project titled 'Child Adolescent and Women Development Awareness-Based Promotion Program', this consultation workshop was held at the district level with the participation of media workers under the special promotion program on typhoid vaccine with the support of UNICEF Bangladesh. It was informed in the orientation; give one dose of TCD vaccine, free your child from the risk of typhoid. Under the Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI), typhoid vaccine will be given to children and adolescents aged 9 months to 15 years.

The chief guest at the consultation workshop was Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal. Syed A Momen, Director (Administration and Finance) of the Public Relations Department, Dhaka, joined the video conference from Dhaka. Among others, the speakers were - District Civil Surgeon Dr. Shaheen Sultana, District Primary Education Officer Nazrul Islam, UNICEF Representative Manjur Ahmed. Alamgir Kabir, Assistant Director of the District Information Office, conducted the program.
