
Unsanitary environment in hospital, Tk 1 lakh fined in Kaliganj

A mobile court has imposed a fine of Tk 100,000 on Nubha General Hospital in Kaliganj, Gazipur, for alleged manpower shortage and unsanitary conditions around the operation theater.
The operation was conducted on Sunday (August 10) afternoon under the leadership of Upazila Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nuri Tasmin Urmi.
At that time, Nubha General Hospital was fined under Section 13 of the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Control) Ordinance 1982 and Section 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Rezwana Rashid was present as the prosecutor in the drive. In addition, Upazila Sanitary Inspector Deb Prasad Mitra, Kaliganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Selim Mia and Bench Assistant Mahbubul Islam participated.
Upazila Executive Magistrate Nuri Tasmin Urmi said, "Such campaigns will continue to maintain the quality of healthcare and protect the rights of the common people."
