'No child will be left out of school, every child will learn' State Minister Bobby Hajjaj

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has said that the government is working hard to implement Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's two visions of 'No Child Out of School' and 'Every Child Learns'. He said that keeping in mind the goal that no child in the country should be out of education and that every child should go to school and learn effectively, necessary reforms, accountability and effective initiatives are being taken in the primary education system.

He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a day-long training workshop titled 'Classroom Management, Monitoring, Accountability and Reform of Administrative Structure in Primary Education in Bangladesh' organized by the Office of the Barisal Divisional Deputy Director, Primary Education at the Barisal District Shilpakala Academy on Sunday.

The State Minister said that such workshops have already been held in three divisions (Sylhet, Mymensingh, Chittagong) and positive results have been obtained from them. There are plans to complete the workshops in all divisions of the country within this month. Based on the opinions and recommendations received from these workshops, new policies will be formulated within the next month to manage the administrative activities of primary education.

Stressing on making the administrative activities of primary education more effective and accountable, the State Minister said, the responsibilities and activities of the officers and employees will be more clearly defined and managed. At the same time, initiatives are being taken to bring every member of the primary education family, including the Divisional Deputy Director (DD), District Primary Education Officer (DPEO), Assistant Upazila Education Officer (ATO), Head Teacher and Assistant Teacher, under a common structure. As a result, coordination in administrative activities will increase, accountability will be ensured and it will be possible to play a more effective role in improving the quality of education.

Highlighting the need for integrated initiatives for infrastructure and quality education to improve the quality of education, the State Minister said, "Quality education will not be ensured by just distributing textbooks or building classrooms.

The event was chaired by Nilufar Yasmin, Deputy Director of Primary Education, Barisal Division, and was attended by the Director (Planning and Dev) of the Department of Primary Education, Deputy Secretary (Admin-1) of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, and all the officials of the education administration of the division, including the District Primary Education Officers and Upazila Primary Education Officers of all the districts of Barisal Division, as special guHajjaj
