There have been allegations of irregular viewing of the 2026 HSC examination books at Dahisara High School and College, located in Dahisara village of Charjashordi Union in Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur. There have been allegations of showing the examination books to the school teachers, office assistants, peons and cleaners sitting in the institution's library and common room.
When the video of the incident of checking the notebooks went viral on social media, there were mixed reactions among teachers, students, and parents.
According to local sources, the institution was established in 2008 under the name 'Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury's School and College'. The institution is currently called Dahisara High School and College. The principal of the institution is Attap Hossain.
It is alleged that the institution's principal, Attap Hossain, as the head examiner, personally collected 600 notebooks from the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board for the evaluation of the 2026 HSC exam notebooks. In addition, notebooks from several educational institutions were sent to him for auditing. In total, he is said to have about 2,104 notebooks.
However, these books were shown to high school teachers, office assistants, peons, and cleaners instead of the designated examiners or teachers concerned.
Those concerned alleged that these records were viewed during the day in the institution's library and common room.
A video circulating on social media shows some teachers and employees looking at HSC exam papers in the institution's library. The video has sparked widespread discussion about the fact that they are being evaluated.
In this regard, Attap Hossain, principal and head examiner of Dahisara High School and College, said, "I am the head examiner. I myself brought 600 notebooks from the board. The rest of the notebooks came to me for inspection from various educational institutions. In total, I have 2,104 notebooks. I have had these notebooks inspected by teachers."
He also admitted to recording a video while looking at the ledger and spreading it on social media.
On the other hand, some teachers and employees of the institution, who did not wish to be named, complained that Principal Attap Hossain himself brought the ledger from the board and showed it to them. They also claimed that they were forced to see the ledger because they were under the principal's supervision.
They allege that the principal has created an opportunity to profit financially by evaluating the accounts in this way. The principal receives 7 lakh taka per year as tutor expenses and only gives 20 thousand taka to the teachers.
In this regard, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Iqbal Hasan said, "There is no opportunity to show or monitor the HSC exam booklets to school teachers or other employees in any way. If this has happened, then it is a serious irregularity. The matter will be reported to the higher authorities and necessary action will be taken."
Faridpur District Secondary Education Officer Bishnu Pad Ghoshal said, "The teacher or examiner who receives the notebook from the board will have to see the notebook as per the rules. The notebook cannot be shown to anyone else.
