DUEDC finale: Startup Grid clinches championship at Creaventure 4.0

DU Correspondent

Startup Grid emerged as the champion of Creaventure 4.0, a premier national idea-pitching competition aimed at fostering young entrepreneurs across Bangladesh.

The grand finale of the event, organized by the Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club (DUEDC), was held on Sunday at the Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre in the capital.

Meanwhile, Startup Matis Plus and Startup Metis secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Almojaddeedi Alfechani, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) of Dhaka University, graced the ceremony as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, speakers highlighted the role of such competitions in building a sustainable startup ecosystem in the country. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Management at DU and Moderator of DUEDC, lauded the platform for helping students bridge the gap between classroom ideas and market-ready ventures.

The flagship event saw an overwhelming response this year, drawing a total of 1,066 participants making up 348 teams from 62 districts across Bangladesh. After multiple grueling competitive rounds, the top eight teams advanced to the grand finale to pitch their business models live before a panel of judges.

The grand finale was attended by Prof. Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed, Chief Patron of DUEDC; Prof. Dr. Hasina Sheik from the Department of Banking and Insurance; along with prominent industrialists, academics, policymakers, and key stakeholders from the country's startup ecosystem.
