10-day Tree Fair begins in Natore

A 10-day tree fair has begun in Natore under the slogan "Decorate the Country with Tree Plantation, Bangladesh First." The inaugural ceremony was held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM in the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room, with Deputy Commissioner Asma Shahin in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abul Hayat conducted the event. Divisional Forest Officer of the Rajshahi Social Forest Department Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam and Additional Superintendent of Police of Natore Md. Ifthe Khairul Alam delivered speeches as special guests, while District Forest Department Forest Ranger Zahidul Islam delivered the welcome address.
Speakers at the event stated that tree plantation has no alternative when it comes to maintaining ecological balance and combating the risks of climate change. Trees keep our lives fresh and beautiful, and we receive invaluable oxygen from them, which is why everyone must plant more trees.
Prior to the discussion, a colourful procession set off from the Deputy Commissioner's office premises and paraded through the town roads.
The Fair will remain open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the District Stadium grounds, featuring 17 stalls exhibiting a variety of trees and saplings.
