4 trucks of chicken manure looted led by Jubo Dal leader, two arrested in Mirsarai

Police have arrested two people on charges of looting 67,200 kg of chicken manure (organic fertilizer) by blocking the path of four trucks carrying goods and intimidating the drivers under the leadership of a Jubo Dal leader in Mirsarai, Chittagong.
The estimated value of the looted organic fertilizer is Tk 2,52,000. They were arrested from an empty lot next to Arafat Hotel in the middle Sonapahar area of Zorarganj Union of the upazila at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. The arrested persons are Majal Haque (30) and Md. Shakil (24). They are residents of Korerhat Union of the upazila.
The looting incident took place under the leadership of Shakhawat Hossain Shakha, member no. 1 of the convening committee of Korerhat Union Jubo Dal.
According to sources at the Zorarganj Police Station, on September 21, around 11:30 pm, four trucks were stopped and the drivers were taken down in the Havildarbasa area of Karerhat Union.
At that time, there were allegations that they took away their mobile phones by threatening them and took control of the four trucks. Later, the trucks were taken near the Arafat Hotel in the Madhyam Sonapahar area and 1,680 bags of chicken manure in the four trucks were taken down. Complainant businessman Ripon Hossain said that he had participated in a public auction of Nahar Ago Feed Limited in the Dakshin Alinagar area of Karerhat Union in Mirsarai and bought these chicken manure as the highest bidder. According to the contract, the goods were supposed to be removed from the company's shed between September 20 and 30. As part of this, the organic fertilizers were being taken to Thakurgaon in four trucks on September 21. When the trucks reached Havildarbasa area on the way, a group of people stopped them and took down the drivers.
Later, the mobile phones were taken from the drivers and the trucks were taken to the Madhyam Sonapahar area and the organic fertilizer was unloaded by the workers. Later, the drivers were taken there on motorcycles, the mobile phones were returned and the trucks were released. In this incident, Ripon Hossain named four people and named 15 to 20 unknown people as accused in a case (No. 32) filed with Zorarganj Police Station on September 22. The people named in the complaint are Abir (28) and Kabir (50) of Jalial area of Sudharam Police Station in Noakhali, and Union Jubo Dal members Shakhawat Hossain Prakash Sakha and Nazim Uddin Rana (34) of Joypur Purba Joar area of Korerhat Union in Mirsarai.
Shakhawat Hossain said, the allegations of looting chicken droppings under my leadership are completely false. Allah has given me a lot: why should I pay attention to these small matters? Businessman Ripon used to give money for expenses from time to time.
Zorarganj Police Station OC Mohammad Abdul Halim said that based on a secret tip-off, Majal Haque and Md. Shakil were arrested in a raid.
