6 pharmacies fined for selling expired medicines in Dharmapasha

A mobile court has fined six pharmacy owners Tk 17,000 for selling expired medicines, physician samples and not storing medicines properly in Dharmapasha Upazila of Sunamganj.
 
The operation was conducted in the Dharmapasha Bazar area around 11 am on Wednesday by Dharmapasha Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sanjay Ghosh, Sunamganj Drug Administration Department Drug Supervisor Mithan Saha, and police members of Dharmapasha Model Police Station, who are engaged in maintaining law and order.
 
As part of a regular operation, a mobile court conducted a raid in Dharmapasha Bazar. During the raid, the mobile court fined six pharmacy owners Tk 17,000 as per the 'Drugs and Cosmetics Act' for selling expired medicines, prohibited physician samples and not storing medicines properly in several pharmacies.
 
Locals have complained that for a long time, there have been complaints of expired and banned medicines being sold in some pharmacies in the market. With regular surveillance and raids, the common people can get safe and quality medicines.
 
The officials concerned said that any irregularities in the health of the common people will not be tolerated. Such campaigns against fake, expired and unapproved medicines will continue regularly in the future in the public interest.
