Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, stated today that honoring students for their merit and creativity plays a vital role in building a prosperous nation and will inspire them toward even greater achievements.

He expressed optimism that today’s brilliant students will go on to make groundbreaking discoveries in science, health, and peace, lifting Bangladesh's prestige on the global stage.

The Minister made these remarks as the chief guest at a stipend and reception ceremony organized by the Rajshahi District Council at its auditorium on Saturday afternoon. During the event, one-time educational stipend checks and crests were distributed among 483 meritorious students who excelled in the SSC 2025 examinations.

"A nation, society, or institution that does not know how to honor its finest children can never achieve true greatness," Mizanur Rahman Minu said. Highlighting Rajshahi's current top tier ranking in the national education sector, anchored by the historical excellence of Rajshahi University and Rajshahi College, he noted that this academic success remains a matter of great pride for the entire region.

On regional development, the Land Minister announced that the Rajshahi Airport will soon be upgraded to international standards, and an agro-based Export Processing Zone (EPZ) will be established in the region to catalyze trade and commercial growth.

The reception ceremony was presided over by the Administrator of Rajshahi District Council, valiant freedom fighter Advocate Ershad Ali Isha. Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-3 Adv Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP for Rajshahi-5 Prof Nazrul Islam Mondal, Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, RCC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, former RCC Mayor Mossaddek Hossain Bulbul, Rajshahi District Collector Kazi Shahidul Islam, and Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Md. Faruk Hossain were present as special guests.

At the end, the Minister handed over a one-time stipend check worth BDT 5,000 alongside a commemorative crest to each of the 483 meritorious SSC graduates.
