Ansar Battalion deployed in Gazipur to control unrest, restore traffic movement

Six platoons of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) battalion members have been deployed across Gazipur to reinforce public safety, secure key installations, and maintain smooth vehicular movement amid ongoing labor unrest in the industrial belt.
Acting under the directives of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Director General, the battalion members are executing field-level security operations in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies and operating alongside executive magistrates. Dedicated intelligence units of the force have also been deployed to collect real-time field information and prevent unauthorized disruptions.
Operational units have been stationed at strategic points to safeguard sensitive state and private installations, protect public life and property, and counter illegal acts committed under the guise of garment worker demonstrations. The deployed personnel are maintaining constant vigil to clear road blockades and restore normal traffic flow across regional highways.
