DU once again best in country in QS Asia rankings, 16th in South Asia

Dhaka University has retained its top spot among Bangladeshi universities in the 'World University Rankings: Asia 2027' by UK-based international education and research organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). In this year's ranking, Dhaka University is ranked 136th among Asian universities and 16th among South Asian universities. Last year, Dhaka University also achieved the top spot among Bangladeshi universities. QS published the ranking on November 3, 2026.
This year's ranking includes 1,722 universities from 26 Asian countries. The University of Hong Kong ranked first and Peking University in China ranked second.
Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam said, "This position of Dhaka University in the international ranking is a source of joy and pride for us. Consistently maintaining the top position among the universities of Bangladesh is a recognition of the collective efforts of our teachers, students, researchers and all concerned.
The Vice Chancellor said, "Enriching the university's education and research environment, enhancing research facilities, expanding international cooperation, and creating opportunities for students to acquire global-level skills are among our top priorities.
