Attack,vandalism at Emergency Depat of Satkhira Sadar Hospital led by Swechhasebak Dal leader

Vandalism and attack were happened at the Emergency Department in Satkhira Sadar Hospital at around 10:30 am Saturday.
It is learnt that a patient named Shahinur was admitted to the indoor hospital after seeking treatment at the emergency department in the morning. The patient's relatives became angry after not finding the doctor in charge there.
Later, they returned to the Emergency Department and got into an argument with the staff on duty. At one stage, eyewitnesses said that the staff was attacked and vandalized under the leadership of former district Swechhasebak Dal President Sohel Ahmed Manik.
At that time, a doctor working at the Ministry of Health was beaten up. Panic spread among the doctors and employees of the hospital during the attack. After the incident, the hospital authorities said that it was not possible to provide medical services in the emergency department.
The patient who came for treatment is named Shahinur Rahman. He is the son of Akkel Ali of Magura village in Sadar upazila.
Dr. Faisal Ahmed, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Satkhira Sadar Hospital, said that a patient named Shahinur was admitted to the emergency department after treatment and sent to Indoor. Later, the patient's relatives came to the emergency department from Indoor and at one point, they beat him up and caused extensive vandalism during an argument over why there was no doctor in Indoor. He said that preparations for a case are underway in this incident.However, eyewitnesses said that the attack and vandalism were led by former volunteer party president Sohel Ahmed Manik. However,In this regard, accused BNP leader Manik said, "I was with the patient. I don't know who vandalized it. I was there."
