The biennial conference of the Bahirchar Union unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) under Bheramara Upazila was held on Saturday on the premises of Sholdag Secondary School.
The event was graced by Professor Shahidul Islam, member of the BNP National Executive Committee, former president of Kushtia District BNP, and former Member of Parliament for Kushtia-2 constituency, as the chief guest.
Advol Touhidul Islam Alam, convener of Bheramara Upazila BNP, former Upazila Parishad chairman, and former municipal mayor, was present as the inaugurator of the conference.
Shahjahan Ali, Member Secretary of Bheramara Upazila BNP, delivered the keynote speech.
The conference was presided over by Shafiqul Islam Bisu, joint convener of Bheramara Upazila BNP. Among the special guests were: ir Muktijoddha Abu Dawood, president of Bheramara Municipality BNP, Shafiqul Islam Dabolu, general secretary of Municipality BNP, Mostak Ahmed Mintu, joint convener, Upazila BNP, bu Mohammad Nuruddin Nuru, joint convener and former VP of Bheramara Government College, Asahaq Ali, Janbar Hossain, and Jahidul Islam Ronju, all joint conveners of Upazila BNP and Shamim Reza Shamim, organizational secretary of Municipal BNP and general secretary of Rail Bazar Business Association
Leaders of BNP and affiliated organizations were also present.
At the end of the conference, Jahidul Islam Loblu was elected as president and Abdur Razzak as general secretary of Bahirchar Union BNP.
