Bomb blast in Barishal court premises, panic among justice seekers

A cocktail explosion occurred in the Barisal court premises. The explosion occurred in front of the Chief Judicial Building on Wednesday (August 12) at around 10:15 am. However, no casualties were reported.
Following the incident, panic spread among the trial candidates, court officials, and lawyers in the court premises. Later, law enforcement officers inspected the scene.
It was seen on the spot that a cocktail explosion took place in front of the judicial building near the main entrance to the Barisal court premises. Immediately after the incident, BMP Commissioner Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh and judges of the Barisal court visited the scene.
Advocate Nazim Uddin Ahmed Panna, PP of the Barisal Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court, said that it is believed that undemocratic forces may be behind this sabotage.
Advocate HM Taslim Uddin said, "I believe that the fascist's friends who are roaming outside are the ones who caused this incident. The country has become unstable because they were not arrested. The people and nationalist forces are on the field to stop those who are trying to destabilize the country."
Noting that the Law Minister is scheduled to visit Barishal on August 16, he said, "A group is plotting to disturb the peaceful atmosphere."
BMP Deputy Police Commissioner Sushant Sarkar told reporters, "The CID team has started investigating the incident. Details can be given after receiving the investigation report. Extensive security has been tightened in the court area surrounding the incident."
