Financial assistance checks have been distributed to 105 "Category C" July fighters from Munshiganj Sadar Upazila who were injured during the July Uprising.
The distribution was conducted by Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat at 10:30 AM on Wednesday in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner office.
At the event, the Deputy Commissioner stated, “Every time I meet the July fighters, I feel re-energized. Both the administration and the journalists are inspired to work correctly when they see you. Even those who were not expected to get involved had to step forward. This check is not just financial aid—it is a token of honor for you.”
Addressing the youth, the Deputy Commissioner said, “You must now focus on your studies. Education will help you in every step ahead, including university admissions and beyond.”
“You are patriots—you have already proven yourselves. Now your task is to prepare yourselves for the future.”
She further added, “The quick return to normal life after such an uprising was only possible because of your efforts.”
The Deputy Commissioner also mentioned that any July fighter who wishes to change their category will have the opportunity to do so, as a committee has been formed for this purpose.
She also announced plans to publish a compilation of stories from the July fighters.
During the event, July fighters Biplob Hossain and Umme Habiba Tanha shared their experiences.
Sadar UNO Mahbubur Rahman, Civil Surgeon’s Office Medical Officer Dr. Md. Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan, and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Billal Hossain, among others were also present.
