Human chain in protest of murder case filed against BNP leaders in Pangsha

A human chain and protest rally was held in Pangsha , Rajbari to protest against the conspiracy to be involved in the murder case filed in the name of BNP leaders and activists and the arson, vandalism and looting of the houses of local BNP leaders.
This program was organized at 11 am today, Wednesday (May 7) at Kalibari intersection in Pangsha Bazar by the initiative of Upazila BNP and Municipal BNP and all its affiliate organizations. More than 2,000 leaders and activists of various levels of the party participated in it.
Pangsha Upazila BNP President Md. Chand Ali Khan presided over the program, while Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Md. Rezaul Karim Rinku moderated the program, while Rajbari District BNP convener Advocate Liaqat Ali Babu spoke as the chief guest.
Among others who spoke at the rally were District BNP Member Secretary Advocate Kamrul Alam, Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Shahabuddin Ahmed, Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Shamsul Alam Akul, Municipal BNP General Secretary Md. Raich Uddin Khan, Organizing Secretary Yusuf Hossain, Bahadurpur Union BNP President Md. Liaqat Ali Khan, and others.
The speakers at the rally said, “The police officers of Rajbari district have biasedly implicated local leaders including Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam in false murder cases with the help of Awami Fascism.”
They also said, “These cases are politically motivated and false. These cases must be withdrawn immediately and the guilty must be punished. Otherwise, the people will be taken to task for this through a larger movement.”
Earlier, leaders and activists participated in the human chain along with processions from different areas of the upazila. They were seen raising various slogans during this time.
It is mentioned that on May 3, a person named Rashidul was beaten and hacked to death in Patta Uttarpara village of Patta Union of Pangsha Upazila. In this incident, a murder case was filed at Pangsha Police Station against local leaders and activists including Upazila BNP General Secretary Shah Md. Rafiqul Islam and Patta Union Parishad Panel Chairman Akidul Islam.
