Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni extends financial assistance to temples,  underprivileged individuals in Betagi

Betagi (Barguna) Correspondent

Chief Whip of the National Parliament and Member of Parliament for Barguna-2, Alhaj Nurul Islam Moni, has undertaken a series of public welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing religious harmony, aiding disadvantaged citizens, and driving regional development in Betagi Upazila, Barguna.

As part of these welfare measures, financial grants of Tk 50,000 were provided for the renovation of each local temple (mandir), along with  individual financial assistance of Tk 10,000 to impoverished families on Saturday.

Grants were also distributed to various Durga Puja mandaps, accompanied by relief distribution programs across the area.

The financial support is expected to facilitate necessary infrastructural repairs at religious worship places, alleviate economic distress among marginalized families, and reinforce social cohesion.

In addition to temple grants and poverty alleviation support, initiatives were launched to support the families of deceased and injured fishermen, alongside continuous investments in local educational and public welfare programs.

Local civil society members noted that non-discriminatory welfare measures play a crucial role in improving living standards for marginalized coastal communities. They emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency and ensuring that support directly reaches genuine beneficiaries to maximize the long-term impact of these development efforts.
