Child dies after being hit by autorickshaw in Sarishabari

A child named Shuvo (6) died after being hit by an auto rickshaw in Sarishabari, Jamalpur at Malipara intersection in Pogaldigha union of the upazila at 6:30 pm on Saturday. The deceased Shuvo is son of Hafizur Rahman of Malipara village.
According to local sources, Shuvo went to a shop near his house to buy chips around 6:30 pm on Saturday. While crossing the road on his way back from buying chips, a speeding battery-powered auto-rickshaw suddenly ran over the child. He was seriously injured on the spot. Later, locals rescued him and took him to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex.
As his condition deteriorated, the doctor on duty sent him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Later, the child died at Vhatara Bazar in the upazila on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Local UP member Kohinur Mia confirmed the matter. The tragic death of child Shuvo has cast a shadow of grief over the area.
OC of Sarisabari Police Station Mohammad Rashedul Hasan (Rashed) said the police were sent to the spot after learning the matter. There is no complaint to the child's family in this incident.
