Coast Guard - Police joint operation : Yaba, cannabis seized, drug smuggler held in Bhola

Bangladesh  Coast Guard and police conducted two separate operations at Illisha in Bhola  and  seized 274 pieces of yaba worth about Tk  1 lakh 50 thousand,  15 grams of cannabis, and cash, while arresting one drug smuggler.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid provided this information.on Monday through a press release 

 According to a press release , Bangladesh Coast Guard is working to implement the government's "zero tolerance policy" against drugs. As part of this effort, based on confidential information, joint operations were conducted by the Bangladesh Coast Guard Base Bhola and police at 3 a.m. on Monday, in Ilisha and Samanda unions under Bhola Sadar Upazila. During the operations, 274 pieces of yaba worth 1 lakh 41 thousand 5 hundred taka, 15 grams of cannabis, and 12 thousand 8 hundred 45 taka in cash were seized, and one drug trafficker was arrested. Subsequently, the seized items and the arrested drug trafficker were handed over to Bhola Sadar Police Station for legal action.

Details of the arrested drug trafficker:

Md. Abbas (38), a resident of Samanda village, Samanda Union, under Bhola Sadar Upazila, Bhola district.

Bangladesh Coast Guard maintains a 24-hour patrol to keep the country's law and order situation stable. Through this, the law and order situation in areas under the Coast Guard's jurisdiction has significantly improved. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
