
Coast Guard detained notorious deer poacher with vension in Mongla

Coast Guard has detained one notorious deer poacher with 10.5 kg of venison and 8 deer legs in Mongla, Bagerhat
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information on Friday noon.
The press release said, based on secret information, at 2:00 AM midnight on Friday, 22 August 2025, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Harbaria in the silo-adjacent area under Mongla Police Station in Bagerhat. During the operation, one notorious deer poacher was arrested along with 10.5 kg of venison and 8 deer legs.
The seized venison and the arrested person were handed over to the Chandpai Forest Office for further legal action.
In order to protect the biodiversity of the Sundarbans by preventing the killing and trafficking of wildlife, Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future as well, the press release added.
