
Coast Guard operation : Weapons, ammunition, smuggled goods seized with boats in Pirojpur, Mongla

Weapons, ammunition, and smuggled goods were seized along with boats in two separate operations by Coast Guard in Pirojpur and Mongla.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque confirmed the matter on Monday afternoon.
The press release said that, based on secret information, on Monday at 6:00 am, a special operation was conducted in the Khetachira area under Mathbaria Police Station in Pirojpur jointly by Coast Guard Station Supati, Kochikhali, and the police. During the operation, a suspicious wooden boat was searched, and one locally made firearm and four rounds of fresh cartridges were seized.
On the other hand, at 7:00 am, a special operation was conducted in the Katakhal area adjacent to Mongla silo by Coast Guard Station Harbaria. During the operation, a suspicious engine-driven fiber boat was searched, and 2,220 liters of stolen burnt mobil (worth BDT 2,045,085), one electronic motor, three sacks of Murli Premium Tea-Coffee Mix, six bundles of wire rope, and the boat used for smuggling were seized.
Sensing the presence of the Coast Guard during the operation, the miscreants and smugglers fled the scene, so no one could be arrested.
The seized weapons, ammunition, goods, and boats are under process for necessary legal action.
