Coast Guard seized 36,000 Yaba tablets in separate anti-drug drives in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 36,000 Yaba tablets worth approximately Tk 1.80 crore in two separate anti-narcotics operations in Teknaf upazila.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, Coast Guard Media Officer said this in a press release on Wednesday noon.
According to the Coast Guard, acting on a tip-off, a special team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a raid in the Mithapanirchhara area under Teknaf police station at around 10:00 PM on Tuesday . During the search, officers recovered 16,000 Yaba tablets valued at approximately Tk 80 lakh in an abandoned state.
In a separate operation early Wednesday at around 2:00 AM, a joint team from Coast Guard Station Teknaf and the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) conducted a raid on a residential house in Jadimura Rohingya Camp-27. Officers seized another 20,000 Yaba tablets worth approximately Tk 1 crore hidden inside the house in an ingenious manner.
However, drug peddlers managed to flee the scene upon sensing the presence of law enforcement, and no arrests were made during this raid.
