Justice will be ensured for every offender regardless of power: State Minister Mir Helal

State Minister for Land and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has asserted that every individual involved in crimes during the July mass uprising will face trial within the country, regardless of their power or status.
Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and reception honoring July martyr families and brave fighters at the Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Wednesday, he stated that ensuring accountability is a firm national pledge and a clear directive from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Commencing his speech with profound reverence for the martyrs, the State Minister noted that their supreme sacrifice cannot be measured by material gains. He emphasized that the true valuation of their blood lies in building a transparent, accountable, democratic, and discrimination-free new Bangladesh dedicated to public service.
Regarding state reforms, Barrister Mir Helal reiterated the government's commitment to implementing the "July Charter," noting that a special committee has already commenced work on constitutional amendments.
Chaired by Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, the event was attended by Member of Parliament for Chittagong-9 Abu Sufian, Bangladesh Cricket Board Director Israfil Khosru, Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Chittagong Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury, PPM, Chittagong Metropol iran Police Commissioner Hasan Md. Shaukat Ali, and Superintendent of Police Md. Masud Alam, alongside senior officials, family members of martyrs, injured fighters, educators, and civil society representatives.
At the end, State Minister Barrister Mir Helal handed over honorary crests to the families of July martyrs and injured fighters, and distributed prizes among the winners of competitions held to mark the day.
