Liberation War Affairs Ministry pays homage at July Shaheed Smriti Stambha

Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, MP, and State Minister Ishrak Hossain, MP, paid profound tribute to the martyrs of the July mass uprising by placing floral wreaths at the "July Shaheed Smriti Stambha" in Shahbagh at 6:01 AM on Wednesday, marking "July Mass Uprising Day-2026."
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the Liberation War Affairs Minister told journalists that mass killings and repression persisted until the final moments of the July uprising, which ultimately ended through the unified participation of students, the public, various political parties, and citizens from all walks of life, ushering in a new chapter in the nation's democratic journey.
He expressed deep reverence for all martyrs and injured fighters of the July uprising, specifically remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice, including Abu Sayed, Mugdho, Wasim Akram, and Maruf.
The event was attended by Liberation War Affairs Ministry Secretary Md. Ashraful Islam, heads of various government offices, senior ministry officials, representatives from the Dhaka divisional and district administrations, political leaders, heroic July fighters, scouts, and prominent figures from various strata of society.
