Joypurhat Correspondent
Court employees in Joypurhat observed a work stoppage at the court premises, pressing two demands: inclusion in the 7th to 12th grades of the Judicial Service Pay Scale following the existing 1st to 6th grades, and the abolition of existing block posts to create time-relevant posts with opportunities for promotion based on qualification and seniority, along with the formulation of an independent recruitment policy on Monday.
The court employees observed the work stoppage from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Joypurhat court premises.
During the event, speakers emphasized the need for a separate secretariat under the Supreme Court for the judiciary. They demanded that the supporting staff of subordinate courts and tribunals be recognized as judicial service employees, with salaries and allowances provided in line with the Bangladesh Judicial Service Pay Scale, extending to the 7th to 12th grades. Additionally, they called for the elimination of existing block posts, the creation of modern posts, and the establishment of an independent recruitment policy that ensures promotion opportunities based on qualification and seniority.Speeches were delivered by Abdul Hannan, President of the Bangladesh Judicial Employees Association (Joypurhat District Branch), General Secretary Krishna Kumar Sarkar, Joint General Secretary Shahid Rabbi, Organizational Secretary Mamun Bhuiya, and others.
