Debate competition to create awareness against corruption in Goalando

A debate competition on creating awareness about anti-corruption and preventing corruption was held in Goalando, Rajbari.
Organized by the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, the debate competition was held at the Upazila Parishad meeting room on Thursday at around 11 am with Sardar Abul Basar, Assistant Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Integrated Office, Faridpur, present as the chief guest.
Students from Daulatdia Model High School and Chowdhury Mahbub Hossain Girls' High School in Goalando Upazila participated in the debate competition. Daulatdia Model High School emerged as the champion in the debate competition on a pre-determined topic.
The event was presided over by freedom fighter Aminul Islam Sofi, president of the Goalando Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee.
Abdul Kader Sheikh, Principal of Goalando Rabeya Idris Women's College, served as the moderator in the debate competition, which was moderated by M Rashedul Haque, member of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee and Prothom Alo Rajbari correspondent. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Jayanta Kumar Das, Assistant Primary Education Officer Md. Azizul Islam and Assistant Primary Education Officer Nasreen Nahar served as the judges.
The winning team in the debate competition will participate in the Rajbari district level competition on May 26.
Among others, Arifa Begum, General Secretary of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee and Headmaster of Shahazuddin Mandal Institute, member Zahurul Islam Chowdhury, Headmaster of Daulatdia Model High School Muhammad Shahidul Islam, Convener of Goalando Journalist Forum Helal Mahmud, Goalando Correspondent of Jugantor Shamim Sheikh, Goalando Correspondent of Dainik Matrikantha Mainul Haque Mridha. were present.
