Distribution of water tanks for rainwater conservation in coastal Shyamnagar

Water tanks were distributed for rainwater conservation at the courtyard of Burigoalini Union Parishad in Shyamnagar Upazila, Satkhira, adjacent to the Sundarbans on Thursday morning.
UNO Ms. Roni Khatun, attended the water tank distribution program as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Burigoalini UP Chairman Haji Nazrul Islam, with district coordinator Masum Billah delivering project-related greetings under the moderation of Upazila coordinator of the BARSIC Environment Project, Mononjoy Mondal. Organized by BARSIC and supported by the donor agency NETZ Bangladesh (Partnership for Development Justice), water tanks were distributed under the Bangladesh Climate Change Vulnerable Poor Communities Empowerment (Environment) Project. Under the environment project, the distribution of a total of 597 water tanks of 1,000 liters and 2 water tanks of 3,000 liters was inaugurated among CSO members across eight unions of Shyamnagar and Ashashuni upazilas.
