The Noakhali district BNP has been tasked with overseeing the organizational activities of BNP in the Noakhali-5 (Companiganj-Kabirhat) constituency. Confusion had arisen over leadership in the constituency after August 5.

Barrister Moudud Ahmed, former Prime Minister and a member of BNP’s Standing Committee, had been elected MP from this seat five times.

On Monday  evening, BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman issued the directive during a meeting at the party's central office in Naya Paltan. He joined the meeting via Skype from London.

Party sources revealed that the meeting was convened to review the progress of the Noakhali district BNP’s convening committee. The meeting involved detailed discussions about the organizational situation in the district. To enhance effectiveness, Tarique Rahman provided strategic guidance and instructions regarding the formation of ward, union, municipality, and upazila-level committees.

During the meeting, BNP member Golam Haider BSc informed Tarique Rahman about the lack of organizational leadership in the Companiganj-Kabirhat region. In response, Tarique Rahman directed that the Noakhali district BNP would take charge of overseeing all organizational matters in the Noakhali-5 constituency.

When asked, district BNP convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo confirmed that the responsibility for BNP’s activities in Noakhali-5 has been entrusted to the district committee by the acting chairman.

The meeting was presided over by Chattogram divisional organizational team leader Ahmed Azam Khan and attended by central organizational secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shamim, district BNP convener Mahbub Alamgir Alo, joint convener Advocate ABM Zakaria, member secretary Harunur Rashid Azad, and members Golam Haider BSc and Advocate Abdur Rahman.
