District Selection Round of National Hifzul Quran Competition held in Kurigram

The district-level selection round of the National Hifzul Quran Competition-2027, being held across the country for the sixth time, was held in Kurigram on Tuesday.The selection round began at 8:00 am at the Kurigram District Model Mosque and the area adjacent to the bus terminal.
Sponsored by Shraboni Knitwear Ltd. and organized by Hifzul Quran Foundation Bangladesh, the competition was attended by students from various Hifz departments across the district.
According to the institution, among approximately 300 students from Char Kathgirai Darun Najat and Bhangamore Darun Najat Hifz Madrasas, a total of 10 Hafez-e-Quran were selected to participate in the national-level competition. Among the selected students, a total of 10 secured positions at the district level, including first, second, third and fourth places.
In the 30 Para Group, the first prize has been set at Tk 100,000, the second prize at Tk 60,000, the third at Tk 40,000, the fourth at Tk 10,000 and the fifth at Tk 8,000. Cash prizes have also been arranged for those securing sixth to tenth, eleventh to twentieth, and twenty-first to thirty-second positions.
Meanwhile, in the 10 Para Group, the first prize is Tk 50,000, the second Tk 30,000, the third Tk 20,000, the fourth Tk 8,000 and the fifth Tk 5,000. Participants securing sixth to thirty-second positions will receive Tk 2,000 and a crest. Attractive gift hampers have also been arranged for the top 32 participants at the district level.
The chief guest at the event was Alhaj Sahel Hossain Kaikobad, Administrator of Kurigram District Council and Member Secretary of the Kurigram District BNP.
The event was chaired by Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, Convener of the Kurigram District BNP.
The names mentioned as officials of the event included Hafez Qari Kamruzzaman, Secretary General of Hifzul Quran Foundation Bangladesh, and Hafez Qari Masum Billah, Organizing Secretary.
According to the organizers, the competition is being conducted in three groups—Group A, Group B and Group C. Group A is open to participants up to 10 years of age who have completed Hifz consecutively, Group B is open to participants up to 13 years of age, and Group C is open to participants up to 17 years of age.
Representatives of Char Kathgirai Darun Najat and Bhangamore Darun Najat Hifz Madrasas said they were extremely pleased and proud that 10 of their approximately 300 students had been selected for the national-level competition. They attributed the achievement to the students' hard work, the tireless efforts of their teachers and the infinite mercy of Allah Almighty.
