Focus on char areas as Gaibandha observes World Population Day

A discussion meeting was held on Sunday noon at the conference room of Gaibandha Deputy Commissioner's Office to mark World Population Day 2026. The event was jointly organized by the Gaibandha District Administration and the Department of Family Planning.
The chief guest at the program was Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Masudur Rahman Molla.
The meeting was chaired by Md. Tarikul Islam, Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Department. Among others, speakers included Superintendent of Police Md. Jasim Uddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Jadab Sarkar, Gaibandha Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sabuj Kumar Basak, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Principal of Gaibandha Government College Professor Abdur Rashid, Assistant Director of the District Family Planning Department Ms. Mahbuba Khatun, Vice-President of Gaibandha Press Club Zobayer Ali, General Secretary of the District Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee Mahfuzar Rahman Swapan, field worker Farida Parvin, and Dipayan Ranjan Das.
The program was moderated by Md. Yamin Hossain, Family Planning Officer of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila.
The event was organized under the theme: “Realizing the Hopes and Aspirations of Youth: Building a Better Tomorrow with Today’s Commitment.”
Representatives from all seven upazilas of the district participated in the program. In recognition of their contributions to family planning, maternal and child health, and adolescent reproductive health services, four outstanding workers and five institutions were honoured.
