
Four including ex- upazila vice vhairman, Jubo League, Chhatra League leaders arrested in Sunamganj

Four individuals, including a former vice chairman of upazila parishad and leaders of Jubo League and Chhatra League, have been arrested in Sunamganj on Friday.
They were shown arrested in cases filed under the Explosives Act and Special Powers Act and were sent to district jail custody through court.
The arrestees are : Soleman Hossain Talukder, son of late Abdul Barik (aka Abdul Bari Talukder) of Muktikhola village in Bishwambharpur upazila. He is a former vice chairman of the upazila parishad, former president of the upazila Jubo League, and organizational secretary of the upazila Awami League. He was arrested by Bishwambharpur police from his home on Thursday night.
Nishi Kanta Chowdhury Chanu, a Jubo League leader from Dirai upazila, was arrested from Shyamarchar Bazar by Dirai police on Thursday night. He is the son of late Shyama Kanta Chowdhury of Shyamarchar village and the former convener of Char Nachar Union Jubo League.
Rana Ahmed Sani (alias Rana), convener of the banned student organization Chhatra League in his area, was arrested by Madhyanagar police on Thursday night from his home in Gandirgaon (Mohammad Alipur) village of Banshikunda South Union, Madhyanagar upazila. He is the son of Kolim Uddin.
Anfor Ali Tuku, president of Jamalganj Upazila Swechchhasebak League, was arrested from his home in Uttar Kamlabaj village by police on Thursday night. He is the son of late Abdus Sattar and a follower of detained former upazila chairman and district Awami League vice president Rezaul Karim Shamim.
Confirming the arrests, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Ops) Zakir Hossain of Sunamganj District Police said on Friday evening that the four were arrested in previously filed cases under the Special Powers Act and Explosives Act in four separate police stations of the district.
