Free medical services, medicines glasses distributed in Goalando

Free medical services have been provided to the helpless and destitute at Goalanda in Rajbari by doctors specializing in ophthalmology, medicine, and gynecology.
This medical service was provided at the Goalanda branch office on Thursday at the initiative of Palli Mangal Program and PMK Hospital and Diagnostic Center. Along with consultations, free necessary medicines and glasses were distributed to eye patients. Gynecologists, medicine and eye specialists provided free medical services to about 400 patients on the day.
Palli Mangal Program (PMK) Office Goalanda Branch Manager Md. Riaz Hossain Mollah presided over the event, while Faridpur Zone Assistant Director Md. Lutfar Rahman Majumder, Healthcare Project In-charge Md. Moniruzzaman Sourav, Rajbari Area Assistant Program Manager Md. Habibur Rahman, Faridpur Zone ICT Officer Shuvo Shaha, Regional Accounts Officer Md. Rakib Hasan and other officials were present.
In this regard, Md. Moniruzzaman, in-charge of the healthcare project, said that Palli Mangal Khraman (PMK) has been implementing healthcare programs along with various other programs since its establishment on November 27, 1987. Under this program, it provides maternal and child health awareness, eye treatment, free healthcare services to pregnant mothers and necessary medicines.
In this regard, PMK program's Faridpur Zone Assistant Director Md. Lutfar Rahman Majumder said, PMK is working to ensure health services for the local very poor and helpless people in all branches of the country and is providing free healthcare. In continuation of that, free specialist doctor consultations are provided to the helpless and poor people of Goalanda Upazila, as well as necessary medicines and glasses for eye patients. He further said, PMK provides health services, technical training, nursing colleges, tissue culture and hospital services in addition to microfinance.
