Ganchil Paribahan fined Tk 40,000 for Illegal roadside bus parking in Louhajang

Munsiganj (South) Correspondent

Two buses belonging to Ganchil Paribahan were fined a total of Tk 40,000 by a mobile court in Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj for illegally parking on the roadside at 11 AM on Tuesday near the main road adjacent to Ghaulatoli Bazar in Louhajang.

The mobile court, led by Louhajang Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Imran, imposed the fines after finding the buses parked in violation of regulations.

Two individuals were detained during the operation: Md. Sohel Sikder (35), son of Nur Islam Sikder from Bara Nopara village in the upazila, and Raj Ahmed Selim (66), son of Abul Kashem Farazi from Jazira, Shariatpur. After collecting the fines, they were released.

It was reported that prior to Eid-ul-Azha, the transport company had been verbally warned several times not to park on the road. Despite these warnings and being given a month to arrange alternative parking, Ganchil Paribahan continued to park buses on the main road.

This is the second time the company has been penalized for such an offense.

Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al Imran said, “Due to Ganchil Paribahan’s illegal roadside parking causing public suffering and traffic congestion, legal action has now been taken twice. They have been warned again, and if this continues, stricter measures will be enforced.”
