 Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, Sheikh Robiul Alam, MP, stated that the government aims to build a united Bangladesh rather than fostering political division based on religion.

The Minister made the remarks on Tuesday while inspecting eight Durga Puja mandaps across the Dhaka-10 parliamentary constituency and exchanging festive greetings with members of the Hindu community on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja.

"This country belongs to you, and it belongs to me. We do not want politics, division, disunity, or conflict based on religion. We want harmony and a united Bangladesh. We share one core identity—we are the people of this country," Sheikh Robiul Alam said during his visit. He emphasized that religious freedom and constitutional rights are not acts of charity, but fundamental entitlements guaranteed to every citizen.

Addressing his constituents, the Minister noted his responsibility as an elected representative from the area to ensure the safety, welfare, and rights of all residents. He highlighted that the government has placed special emphasis on security measures across puja mandaps to enable devotees to celebrate in a peaceful and joyful environment, urging citizens to inform him directly of any issues or disruptions to their civic rights.

Regarding local development, Sheikh Robiul Alam, who represents Dhaka-10 in Parliament, noted that infrastructure challenges within the constituency are being actively identified and addressed. He expressed confidence that further developmental progress will become visible in the coming months, while calling on citizens of all faiths to maintain communal harmony and contribute to national development.
