Govt takes comprehensive plans for dev of people of country : Social Welfare Minister

Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Minister of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs, has provided financial assistance to 42 students of the small ethnic community of Birampur Upazila under Dinajpur-6 constituency and 42 helpless and poor families of the same community. In addition, goats were provided as livestock to 23 beggars under the Beggar Rehabilitation and Alternative Employment Program.
The Minister himself distributed these financial assistance and livestock as the chief guest at a program organized by the Upazila Administration and Upazila Social Service Office at the Mukta Mancha Chattar of the Upazila Parishad on Wednesday afternoon.
Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam, Superintendent of Police Zedan-ul-Musa, Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Abdul Matin, Upazila Executive Officer Tahmina Sultana Nila, Social Services Officer Abdul Awal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Police Station Saiful Islam Sarkar, Youth Development Officer Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Secondary Education Officer Shamsher Ali Mondal, Academic Supervisor Abdus Salam, Upazila BNP President Miah Shafiqul Alam Mamun, General Secretary Manjur Elahi Chowdhury Rubel, Municipal BNP President Humayun Kabir, General Secretary Rezaul Karim Reju, District BNP Vice President Toshaddek Hossain Tosha, officials from various government departments, local dignitaries, beneficiaries and local journalists were present.
In his speech as the chief guest, the minister said that the current BNP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman has taken comprehensive plans and initiatives for the development of the people of the country. The family card program has already been launched, and each family will receive a family card in phases. It has been decided to waive agricultural loans of up to ten thousand taka for farmers. The farmer card program will be launched next month. In this way, the current government will continue to work for the development of people of all classes and professions in the country. The minister called on the people of the country to stand by and cooperate with the government's development activities.
