Health awareness meeting, blood camp held in Jamalpur

A health awareness discussion and blood camp for thalassemia patients was held on at the Malanch United Trust office in Melandah recently.
The event was organized by M.A. Rashid Mother & Child and Eye Hospital with financial support from the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation.
The session was presided over by AJM Brig. General Fazlur Rahman, Executive Director of United Trust. Dr. Md. Azizul Haque, Civil Surgeon of Jamalpur, delivered the keynote speech as the chief guest.
Other speakers included Prof Dr. Masuma Akter, Vice President of the Thalassemia Foundation; Dr. Gazi Rafiqul Haque, Upazila Health & Family Planning Officer; Thalassemia Specialist Dr. Raziya Sultana; Dr. Anwar Hossain, among others.
The event was attended by 19 blood donor organizations, heads of various institutions, teachers, social workers, thalassemia patients, guardians, media personnel, and members of civil society.
